“Jason is right. Since Devil’s Horn and Sky Island will not help us, why should we care about their feelings? We may as well send out a distress signal for now. If there is no reaction in a day, we will seal the island,” a few black robed mages affirmed Jason’s words.

The mages on Sregl Island had survived independently for generations and the pact made thousand years ago had nothing to do with the people today. None of the mages were willing to give up their volcanic magic array and the elf of fire elements. This was the perfect opportunity. If the mages on the other two islands were not willing to help, then the sealing of the island would have a clear reason behind it.

However, all of them knew that the combat vessels could never take down Sregl Island. These mages could not care less about those vessels cruising in the sea anyways. Since Sregl Island had first been established, it had always been self-sufficient. Even if they could not leave the island, the magic plantations were enough to feed thousands of inhabitants.

Every mage had the same thought. In three years’ time, there could be three more sorcerers on the island. There were thirty-three sorcerers on this island now, and one hundred and eighty-eight grand mages. Among the grand mages, there were over twenty grade-6 mages, some of them having possessed that grade for many years. Some of them could have a breakthrough in the next three years, and they could count on their own capabilities to capture the elf of fire elements, not needing to count on the other two islands and Alchemy City.

“If Devil’s Horn and Sky Island really send someone to our aid, then what should we do?” Lancelot posed a sharp question. If the two islands really did send mages over, they would not have any excuse to seal the island.

The sorcerers looked at one another. They were not willing to split the elf of fire elements into four parts, but if an internal struggle really did occur, Sregl Island would be the weakest of the four forces.

Sealing the island straightaway? That would make their intentions too obvious.

The mood turned somber and Lancelot became a little sad as well. When the last grade-9 sorcerer on the island had passed away, Sregl Island had lost any hopes of being equal in power to the other three forces. If they had a grade-9 sorcerer on the island, they would not have been in this embarrassing situation today.

“Everyone, go back and rest. I will prepare thirty-six pieces of magic equipment within a month. We will prepare to capture the elf of fire elements, and as for sealing the island, let me give it some thought.” Lancelot waved his hand, asking the others to leave.

“What? Teacher, you asked that Sregl Island be sealed?” Hearing Jason’s idea, Saleen was a little flustered. Wouldn’t his plan be ruined then?

“I am still not confident about Lex’s affairs. I haven’t told Lancelot about them yet. Saleen, you can give up that ship. Have the pirates stay on the island in the meantime. The town on the island can feed them.”

“Teacher, Lex needs to return to Bitter Water Prefecture. After three years, the Holy See will have fought their way into the Qin Empire.”

“It won’t be that easy. There are quite a few grade-9 sorcerers in the Qin Empire, aren’t there? There are three in Holy Rock City alone. The Holy See only dares to throw their weight around in God Grace Duchy. If you let them onto Qin soil, they might not have the guts to enter anyways.”

Jason had a frank expression on his face, making Saleen even more anxious. In three years, the combat puppets in Holy Rock City would have finished building. By that time, the need for Bitter Water Prefecture would be drastically reduced. Even if they did not lose any territory, Lex would have no opportunities to develop it further even if she went back. Moreover, if she did not return for three years, the people in Bitter Water Prefecture would have no idea what had happened to Lex.

If Lex brought a group of sorcerers with her now, she would be able to fight back against Loulan Duchy and expand her power. After three years, Holy Rock City would be prepared and Bitter Water Prefecture would be in an even more awkward position, not gaining anything from this war which involved all of the countries on the mainland.

It was already September and the knights from the Holy See might have already crossed the middle line in Loulan Duchy. And in three years? Who knew what would happen in three years?

“Teacher, you need to speak with Lex again,” Saleen said anxiously.

Jason smiled. He patted Saleen on the shoulder and said, “She should be worried about this, not you. You’re too anxious. Aren’t you worried that you might lose out?”

“Teacher, I have half of the share of the interdimensional space. How would I lose out?”

“It would be best if it were all yours,” Jason said softly as Saleen felt a chill go down his spine.

“Teacher, you aren’t suggesting that I make an agreement with Lex?”

“Not to that extent. There are remnants of Raphael within the interdimensional space. He was a grade-10 sorcerer, but Sregl Island is also the remnant of grade-10 sorcerers. The volcanic magic array’s value isn’t any less than that of Raphael’s magic tower. The six element space is important, but it isn’t something worth worrying about. You need to avoid drawing attention. Think. If this information is leaked, not only will the people from the Holy See want the interdimensional space’s coordinates, but even the other forces from Alchemy City will be tempted.”

“Won’t things be the same after three years?” Saleen did not understand what the difference was.

“Saleen, the elf of fire elements is more useful than you can imagine. This magic array has been revolving by itself for the past thousands of years. The elf of fire elements within is enough to create four half-god weapons. With them, we will have the power to counter any forces from the Myers Mainland.”

Saleen thought back to what was written within the demonic spellbook. In the past, an elf of fire elements born from an abyss could not be defeated even by humans or supreme demons. This elf of fire elements was indeed the strongest life form in the universe.

“If we can gather thirty-six sorcerers in three years, we can bring the four half-god weapons to the interdimensional space. Tell me, by then, who will be able to snatch the away interdimensional space from us? I do not care about Lex’s share, but if the Grukos family were to find out about this, they would definitely intervene. We do not have any grade-9 sorcerers now. What will we use to fight them?”

Saleen did not rebut. He had thought of Joey in Holy Rock City.

The world Raphael had created did not have much meaning to a normal mage, but for someone like Joey, it had enormous research value.

If Joey knew about that place, wouldn’t he be tempted? If he is, the thirty-three sorcerers that teacher has here might not be a match for him. The sorcerers in Holy Rock City are not sparse either, and if all of them join the fight, it will be another humiliating situation for Sregl Island.

“Saleen, if you cannot wait, leave with Lex. Come and find me again in three years.” Jason saw that Saleen could not make up his mind and did not force him to do anything either.

“Teacher, do you think Nailisi can enter the volcano to capture the elf of fire elements?”

“She is too weak. Moreover, don’t have your contract creature do something so dangerous. It would have been good if she was a supreme demon. Sigh…” Jason sighed. If only his teacher had not died by accident. Then, Sregl Island would not have been in so much trouble. A grade-9 sorcerer would have been able to take the place of six normal sorcerers in controlling the direction of the magic array.

“Saleen, I have seen both Sika and Daniel. They can help you greatly. If you want to put your heart into training your magic, these people will be enough. If you want to help Lex build another empire that will surpass the Qin Empire, they are definitely insufficient. This is something that will take decades or even centuries. You are a little too anxious now. No matter how anxious you are, the world will not change because of you. If the Holy See wants to do something, you cannot stop them. If Holy Rock City wants to do something, you have no power to protect yourself from them. What you need to do right now is increase your power. Become a sorcerer and go to the six element space of the interdimensional space to train.”

Jason wanted to wake Saleen up with his words. Saleen was indeed too anxious now. Everything he wanted to do would require a long time. However, he could not wait and wanted to complete everything as quickly as possible.

“I… know,” Saleen answered bitterly. He had not had much time to train after all, and he could not control the power of fate. Even Raphael had not been able to control his own fate completely.

“Lex’s idea is pretty good. If you intend to leave, have her leave behind enough items to trade for three combat vessels, and ditch the pirate ship. Three combat vessels will be enough for you to establish a port up north. Even Cloudflow does not have so much power that they will fight for that barren land in the north. Saleen, I can support you in whatever you want to do, but it doesn’t mean that I will support Lex. Do you understand?”

“I know, but…”

“I can lend you some grand mages. With them, you will have the same authority as Lex. It isn’t that the interdimensional space isn’t important, but it isn’t as important as the elf of fire elements. Once all these matters have been settled on Sregl Island, I will bring some men to find you.”

Seeing that Saleen intended to leave, Jason decided to let him go in peace.

“But what of the matter between you and Lex?”

“What matter? Oh, you mean asking her to marry you? Haha, if she is willing, of course it would be good. If a mage wants to get married and have a wife, it would be best if she is a mage. If she is willing to marry you, then I will support her unconditionally regarding the interdimensional space. Anyways, it would be yours at the end of the day.”

“I understand. Teacher, I can’t bear to leave.” Saleen hung his head, a sadness rising within his heart. He had just been reunited with his teacher, but had to leave again.

“Saleen, you’ll need to be independent someday. Moreover, I am confident that I will be able to reach grade-8 soon. Living for another few centuries will not be a problem. You need to work hard too. If a mage cannot reach grade-9, it will be very hard for them to understand the truths of the world. Only a grade-10 mage can live as they please. Similarly, any unrest on the mainland has nothing to do with us.”

Saleen nodded, not trying to convince Jason. Jason’s mindset was the same as most mages. As long as one could live well, why should they care about others?

Saleen had made up his mind. The interdimensional space could wait another three years. No matter what happened on Sregl Island, these mages would be interested in it. He would go and build a port in the north. With the backing of his teacher, Lex, and the Grand Duke of Phoenix at his weakest, it would not be too difficult.

“Teacher, I think the sealing of the island can be dragged out for a while. Each additional day is another chance to capture the elf of fire elements.” After making up his mind, Saleen squinted and started giving Jason ideas.

“Hehe, Saleen, you look a lot like me doing that.” Jason laughed as he said, “If you need my help for anything, just let me know. It was my idea to seal the island. Lancelot is too soft and he is destined to not be able to control everything. When you see me again, I might be the master of Sregl Island. As for now, I have some power in decisions. My closest apprentice is the second grade-8 sorcerer on the island. Saleen, our branch of mages still have some say.”
